Legal aid is a form of human rights protection aimed at ensuring that every citizen has access to justice. In the development of Indonesia’s legal system, the reform of procedural law has become an important step toward creating a judicial process that is more effective, fair, and transparent. This article discusses the transformation of legal aid in the era of procedural law reform in Indonesia, including the role of the state in providing access to legal aid for society, particularly for underprivileged groups. The research method used is normative juridical research with statutory and literature approaches. The results of the study indicate that legal aid plays an important role in supporting the realization of a fair procedural law system. However, in its implementation, there are still various obstacles, such as limited access, lack of public understanding, and the uneven distribution of legal aid services across different regions. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen regulations, improve the quality of legal aid providers, and enhance government support so that procedural law reform can be implemented optimally.
